SouthCoast Medical Group’s Eye Care Department offers a comprehensive range of services to diagnose and treat visual disorders. From basic eye exams to diagnostic testing and surgery, our physicians use state-of-the-art equipment to test vision and the health of the eye while treating a broad spectrum of eye conditions including refractive errors, cataracts, glaucoma and diabetic eye disease. Our physicians also fit and dispense rigid gaspermeable and soft contact lenses.

For patients wishing to reduce their dependency on glasses or contact lenses, our Eye Care Department specializes in advanced cataract surgery. Options include the new multi-focal intraocular lens (for distance and near vision) and toric lens (for astigmatism) We also offer custom LASIK surgery utilizing the latest technology available. LASIK stands for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis and is a procedure that permanently changes the shape of the cornea, the clear covering of the front of the eye, using an excimer laser.
