Seasonal Flu and H1N1 Flu Vaccinations
FLU
HOTLINE: 691-3545
SouthCoast Medical Group has adult seasonal flu vaccine available.
If you would like to receive the adult seasonal flu vaccination, please contact one of our primary care offices to schedule an appointment.
Our Department of Pediatrics has received a limited supply of
the H1N1 flu vaccine for children.
Due to the limited amount, we will first offer the nasal spray to high risk children ages 2-4. Once our patients that fall into this category have been offered the vaccination, our pediatric offices will then open up the vaccines to other 2-4 year olds and then all other pediatric patients. Children are one of the priority target groups to receive the H1N1 vaccine because they are more susceptible to contracting and spreading the virus. Children with compromised immune systems are not able to receive this vaccine; that group will have to wait until the injectable version arrives. At this time, there has been no confirmation of the availability of the H1N1 injectable vaccine.
